1st July

On Saturday July 1st, a fellow member and Echo Reporter, Chris Phillips, played tennis non stop for 11 hours and five minutes to raise funds for SECE Mind.

The inspiration for this was for Chris to play for the same length of time as thefamous match between Nicolas Mahut and John Isner at Wimbledon, back in 2010.

Chris raised over £12,000, across 387 supporters, for the above-mentioned charity.

Chris received plenty of support from Sue Barker, Judy Murray, Ryan Peniston, Kriss Akabusi and Peter Shilton.

13th May

On behalf of the committee, I am delighted to confirm that completion

of the purchase of the freehold and grant of a new lease to the tennis

club took place earlier today.

To celebrate this long-awaited and momentous occasion, those attending

our President vs Chairman American Tournament this Saturday will

receive a glass of fizz to toast the future of the club.

Now we have overcome this enormous hurdle,

the committee will now focus on the replacement of our courts and

floodlights.
