Our current Committee members

Alan Worsdale - Chairman

I see my role as Chairman as being a figurehead for the Club and representing the Club at any official functions. I will Chair regular committee meetings to ensure that the committee work in a co-ordinated manner for the benefit of the Club and its members. The greatest challenge this coming year will be dealing with the lease which is due to expire at the end of October 2022.

I have been a member of the Club for at least 25 years and was Chairman when the current courts were laid.

I hope that my past experience and my business experience of being Managing Director of a large accounting practice will benefit my role as Chairman.

Graham Taylor - Club Captain

With overall responsibility for tennis including social, match, coaching and tournament tennis, mine is a busy role. I am lucky to have great support from both Ladies and Men's captains.
We try to provide a varied tennis calendar for all our members whether adult or junior. We aim to provide an enjoyable tennis experience for everybody irrespective of standard. Prospective members are always welcome and i am to "meet and greet" all potential members.

James Driscoll - Men's Captain and Leigh & Westcliff Secretary

My dual role is to oversee men's tennis at the club and teams that compete in the local Leigh & Westcliff competitions.

My external role as Chairman of the Leigh & Westcliff Lawn Tennis Association compliments my responsibilities at the club.

When not undertaking these roles, you can find me somewhere in Britain fulfilling my role as a umpire for the Lawn Tennis Association

Pamela Sweeting - Ladies Captain

As Ladies Captain, I try to provide an enjoyable and varied tennis programme for all our members, with emphasises on our lady members, irrespective of age and activity. I continue to help with our club's social calendar as well.

David Hill - Honorary Secretary

As Club Secretary I am responsible for general administrative tasks and taking the minutes at the Club's AGM's. Being a club member for over 10 years, the opportunity to take this role was something I jumped for in order to represent fellow members and assist in continuing to make the club one that I am proud to call mine. I pride myself on helping others and always smiling through a game whatever the score!
